Portal Ruby Porto
This wine is a young and vigorous red Port made from the traditional red varieties of the Douro. Its appetising aromas are both fruity and tasty. Delicious with chocolate or enjoyed on its own.
Portal Tawny Porto
The name “tawny” comes from the colour that a Port becomes after having been aged for several years in wood casks. This style of Port makes a marvellous aperitif served chilled with salted almonds or olives. It is also excellent as a dessert Port, served at the 16º-18º C with a crême-brulé.
Portal White Porto
Its delicious mellow aromas and balance of appetising sweetness and acidity makes this style of Port a perfect aperitif. Serve well-chilled with salted almonds or olives. It can be also mixed with Tonic Water (1/3 Portal Fine White Port + 2/3 Tonic Water + 1 slice of lemon + ice) to obtain a delicious and refreshing long drink.
Portal Lagrima Porto
Its delicious mellow aromas and balance of appetising sweetness and acidity makes this style of Port a perfect aperitif. Serve well-chilled with salted almonds or olives. It can be also mixed with Tonic Water (1/3 Portal Fine White Port + 2/3 Tonic Water + 1 slice of lemon + ice) to obtain a delicious and refreshing long drink.
Portal 10-Year Old Tawny Porto
This is produced mainly from Tinta Roriz and Touriga Franca grapes, which are carefully crushed in our old stone tanks (lagares). Pale amber in colour, this wine has an intense aroma of walnuts and almonds. In the mouth it still shows some ripe fruit flavours which are well balanced with the ageing flavours of dry fruits. Best enjoyed at 16ºC with sweet desserts, or even as aperitif with foie-gras.
Portal 20-Year Old Tawny Porto
The grapes are crushed by foot, and we then age the wine in 550 litre barrels for at least 20 years. After bottling, this wine is ready to be enjoyed. Once poured into a glass, you will find an immense complexity of aromas with dry fruits and figs dominating. In the mouth is a pleasure for the senses! Enjoy with fruit pies or with your favourite cigar.
Portal Colheita Porto
Colheita Ports are wines from a single vintage that are aged in wood for several years and can only be sold after they have attained 7 years of age. Whilst they age, their young, fruity and fresh aromas develop through oxidation to create a bouquet marked by the aroma of dried fruit, toasting, wood and spices. The wines also acquire an increased smoothness and their bouquet becomes more harmonious and complex. A wine made in an exceptional year. Ready for drinking now, this will develop to a superb wine if aged for a few more years.
Portal Late Bottle Vintage (LBV) Porto
These are wines from a single year. They appear in years of excellent quality and are aged longer in wood than Vintage Port. They are bottled between the fourth and sixth year after they are made. Red in color, full-bodied and smooth with a fruity bouquet they will continue to develop in the bottle. Our LBVs are bottled unfiltered, therefore some sediment may be present.
Portal Cellar Reserve Porto
This wine is unique. It is a blend of our choicest “lots” of deep red wood-aged ports of four to six years old together with other “lots” of very fine older ports. The result is a highly distinctive round, fruity, elegant after-dinner Port of great complexity.
